Community Involvement

September 17th:

Since all next week is national Constitution Week, we invite you to come to the shop and pick up a free copy of the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence. On Thursday, September 17, we will offer an oil change for the amazing price of $17.87 to commemorate the 39 founding fathers.

Chief among those men was James Madison, nicknamed “Father of our Constitution” and he later became the 4th President of the United States. His wife, Dolley, is also famous. She is remembered as the woman who shaped the duties of the First Lady. She rescued a famous portrait of George Washington when the British burned down the Capitol and the White House in the War of 1812. Finally, thanks to Dolley, we have her husband’s notes from the Constitutional Convention. The reason we mention this is that Kathryn will be visiting Garden Oaks Montessori School on Constitution Day as Dolley Madison to tell these stories and more.

September 19th:

Then, on Saturday, September 19, “Dolley Madison” will give a talk at Adolf Hoepfl Garage. We invite you to join us at 1:30 p.m., when Kathryn will discuss, “The Mystery of the Red Velvet Dress.” Lemonade and Dr. Pepper ice cream will be served following. We have limited seating so please R.s.v.p.

Grand Opening of Texas General Store, a small gift shop inside our repair shop featuring Texas made art, gifts, and fun!
